About the Almanac
Spice Almanac is an independent reference for spices, herbs, and blends. It exists to answer the everyday questions a cook actually has: what does this taste like, what do I do with it, what does it pair with, and what do I use when I have run out.
It is not a recipe site and not a brand blog. We sell nothing and describe everything. Each profile is a small data sheet: a plain-English flavor read, the pairings and the things to avoid, how to handle the spice whole or ground, and the closest substitutes with ratios.
Every factual field traces to a source. Where we cannot verify something, we leave it blank and say so rather than guess. The unverified items are listed in the open on our methodology page.
The Almanac is published as an organization, not under a fabricated byline. It is part of a small family of reference almanacs.
